1. Why
choose Nurture & Nanny?
Nurture & Nanny is a professional nanny agency based in Los Angeles.
We work closely with your family to find the perfect nanny. We will
only introduce nannies to your family that meet your needs and
requirements, saving you precious time and unnecessary stress. All
our nannies have a minimum of two years experience in childcare and
have passed extensive background and reference checks. Our
nannies will make a minimum of a one year commitment to your family.
Should your initial nanny placement end before the first year is
over, we offer one free replacement. At Nurture & Nanny we take
pride in the nannies we represent and consider it a privilege to be
invited into your home and to work with your family.
2. What areas of L.A. do you serve?
Nurture & Nanny is located in Hollywood, CA. Our nanny agency makes
placements throughout the greater Los Angeles area. We work with
families from Malibu to Pasadena, Hollywood to Santa Monica. In
addition, we work with nannies that are able to relocate to states
outside of California, if needed.
3. What is included in the Deposit Fee?
The $250 non-refundable fee includes an extensive background check,
interviews, past employment verification, reference checks,
CPR/First Aid Certification, and TrustLine Registration (upon
request). The Deposit Fee will be credited
to your Placement Fee upon the hiring of one of our nannies, if
placement is full-time (over 30 hours a week). The $250 Deposit Fee
is non-refundable for part-time placements.
4. How much is your placement fee?
Most agencies charge between 10-15% of the nannies annual gross
income for their placement fee. At Nurture & Nanny, we charge 9% for
permanent placements, 15% for baby nurses, and 20% for temporary
placements (lasting less than 3 months). We offer competitive rates
because we feel that financial limitations shouldn't keep you from
having a quality nanny.
5. How much does a professional nanny cost?
Several factors go into deciding the salary for a nanny: years of
experience, number of children under her care, job duties, and hours
to be worked. When calculating a salary, please consider overtime
pay, vacation pay, raises and/or medical benefits.
Below are examples of nanny salaries:
- Full Time Nannies (Gross Weekly Income)
$550-$1200 (40-50 hour/week)
- Part-Time Nannies (Gross Hourly Rate)
$15-$25 per hour
- Baby Nurses
$20-$35 per hour based on 12/24 hour shifts
6. Do nannies get medical insurance?
If your income allows for it, offering medical insurance to your
nanny is a great plan. Not only does that assist your nanny in
getting her medical needs met, but it also makes you a desirable
employer. Please consider health benefits for your nanny when
discussing salary.
7. What about taxes?
Your employee’s taxes usually range from 15-20% of gross wages.
These include:
- Half of Social Security & Medicare (7.65%)
- Federal income taxes
- State income taxes (if applicable)
- Employers are only required to withhold Social Security and
Medicare taxes from their employee’s salary each pay period. If both
parties agree, employers can also withhold federal income taxes.
Household employers can expect to pay employment taxes that amount
to approximately 10% of their employee’s gross wages. These include:
- Half of Social Security & Medicare (7.65%)
- Federal and state unemployment insurance
